Step 1: Identify Need and Skill

  1. What is one need from your assessment?

  2. What is a skill you could work on to help you with this need?

Examples:

  • Need: "I can manage money." Skill: I will keep track of my expenses each month.

  • Need: "I can make a schedule." Skill: I will make my daily schedule.

  • Need: "I am willing to engage in activities with others." Skill: I will reach out to one person per week to engage in activities with them.


Step 2: Write the IEP Goal (Formula)

Fill in the following blanks to structure your goal:
